My teacher thinks I’m the best student but I'm living a lie. All my assignments are completed on time and A+ worthy. The thing is, my older sibling is the one doing my homework because I suffer from migraines on a daily. She has signed me up for a science fair in which I don't think I will be able to do on my own. I want to stop living a lie.

Be open and honest about the situation. A lot of the time we try put up with situations that we really don't need to because we don't want to disappoint the people around us and we want to be liked. This kind of people pleasing only puts us in a worse position than we started off in. If you're not putting in the work, you cannot enjoy the reward. At some point the truth will come to light and it's always better to disclose than to be discovered. Take ownership and speak to your teacher about this.

I believe you should tell your teacher. The truth shall set you free...DON'T FAKE IT.

School is already so hard. Keep faking it till you make it. Practice what you want to say.

A clear conscience is a healthy one. Don’t dig a deeper hole, one you won’t be able to come out of. It’s better to speak up now, before things get escalate in a way that leaves you with an even bigger dilemma. You might face a few repercussions but nothing compared to what’ll happen if you string your teacher, your sister and the school along.

She should tell the truth now before the lie grows even more.

I think she should tell the teacher because at the end of the day it will show on her exam.

It would be easy to say just come out and tell the truth but she seems to be so deep in the lie that the consequences are going to be devastating. What’s going to happen to her grades? What’s going to happen to her sibling? How are her parent’s going to handle this? Isn’t that fraud by the way? Deceiving the school system? So many things to consider but like the saying goes “you make your bed so lay in it”. My advice, now is a good time to come clean. Whatever happens, happens. This is a lesson...one little lie can spiral out of control!.

While it may be hard to do, the truth is the best. Life will go on so might as well live it right.
